PEDAL POTLUCK PICNIC RETURNS FOR THE 2007!
FOR THE UNINITIATED:
The Pedal Potluck Picnic is a fortnightly series of bicycle
rides hosted by the Urban Adventure League during the
summer. We'll meet up and enjoy a ride to a secret picnic
destination.

The ride will be a casual one traversing approx. 3-5 miles.
There will be a different route each time, incorporating
interesting places and/or random trivia. The end destination
is a mystery, but it will always be a park or park-like
setting. The catch is the "park" will be a lesser-known
and/or out of the way spot. The term "park" will be used
liberally here, so expect the unexpected!

At the endpoint we'll enjoy a picnic dinner. Eating will be
potluck style, so please bring food and drink to share
(preferably vegetarian/vegan). If you don't have time to
prepare something before the ride, fear not! When we start
from the Hawthorne Hostel, we will stop at a grocery store
along the way. When we start from either the Alberta Co-Op
or Food Front, you can pick up groceries there.
WE'RE DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY THIS YEAR
The past two summers, the Pedal Potluck Picnic met weekly.
But frankly I got burnt out from doing it, and attendance
didn't warrant that frequency. This year, rather than meet
up weekly, we will meet up on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesdays
from June through August.

And rather than have one meet-up spot, we'll have a different
one depending on which Tuesday it is. 1st Tuesdays will
meet at the Hawthorne Hostel, 3031 SE Hawthorne. 3rd
Tuesdays will meet at the Alberta Co-Op, 1500 NE Alberta.
5th Tuesdays will meet at Food Front, 2375 NW Thurman. The
different start points will allow more variety in the
destination, and it will also quiet down the complaints by
residents of N/NE that 30th and SE Hawthorne is "too far away."

I know, all this is a little confusing, but just follow this
handy list:
