Of Feasts and Famines (and an event announcement)

Dearest friends,

Last week I finished up a big art project, the aforementioned Portland Bicycle History Comic written by Sarah Mirk and to be published as part of Dill Pickle Club's Oregon History Comics series. Finishing that rather large project was supposed to allow me to breathe a sigh of relief.

But relief has not been reached, not just yet.

Right around the time that I wrapped it up, I got a couple more art jobs landing into my inbox. Sweet! More work drawering! Art assignments are great when you are a half-assed pseudo "professional arteest". It's even greater when they come to you! So now I've got a full plate of paying art related business to keep me busy through at least the middle of March.

Being a freelance whatever is a continual cycle of feast and famine. And it looks like I'm on the feast cycle for a little bit. Which is of course good. I have not worked a "regular" job since May (gawd, has it been almost NINE MONTHS?) so art stuff and selling of merchandise* has been keeping me going. And you gotta run with it when you can. To top off this feast streak, I'm going to have an honest to goodness job interview on Tuesday. I don't want to talk too much about it because I don't want to jinx myself, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Besides sharing what's been going on in my life as of late, the past four paragraphs is also a roundabout way of saying that because I've been busy with other stuff, I haven't had much opportunity to work on this blog. Which is of course a shame. I'll be uploading more comics (yaay!) soon to keep y'all satisfied. (I don't actually have a scanner or Photoslop at home so I usually only get the opportunity to upload stuff about once a week.) And I would like to post something substantial once or twice a week. Thanks for understanding.

Speaking of the Oregon History Comics, there will be a big launch/party coming up very soon! Dill Pickle Club is releasing the box set of all 10 volumes on Sunday, March 4th (that's two weeks from today!) Here are the full details:
