THE WINTERTIME PALM TREE RIDE RETURNS FOR ITS FOURTH SEASON!

Friends, this ride is always a lot of fun. You can check out photos from previous rides here: 2005 (courtesy Steev Hise)
2007 (courtesy Jonathan Maus/Bike Portland)
You should totally come!

THE WHAT:
a bicycle ride passing by the multitude of palm trees and other tropical and evergreen vegetation growing in the city, plus all the fun factoids that the Urban Adventure League is known for.

THE WHEN: Sunday, January 20th 2008 at 11am. Ride should last about three hours, with plenty of stops.

THE WHERE: We'll be starting at the Portland Hawthorne Hostel, 3031 SE Hawthorne Blvd. (map)

THE WHY: because winter in Portland really isn't as bad as some people make it out to be! This ride is a way to prove it!

THE HOW: On your bike!

HOW TO GET THERE: Via Tri-Met 14-Hawthorne bus.

THE DETAILS: RAIN OR SHINE. Be amply prepared for the 'harsh winter weather' you may face on this day. Oh yeah, I'm not the type to encourage people to wear 'wacky tropical themed outfits' to go along with the ride, but if that's your bag,
you can run with it, er, bike with it!

EXTRA SPECIAL-SPECIAL: A PRE-RIDE BREAKFAST will happen at the Hostel at 9:30am. Served up by the folks who bring you Gracies Sunday Brunch! A veritable feast of vegan and non-vegan breakfast options. $2 suggested donation. Stop by early (after 8am) to help out!

FLYERS: Print out a four-up copy of the flyer by clicking here, or one big one here. (Note: pdf file, requires Adobe Acrobat or equivalent.
